Vakhtangov Theatre: The Tales of Pushkin

About the performance

Pushkin's Belkin Tales staged by Anatoly Shuliev — his first production after being made chief director of the Vakhtangov Theatre, premiered in 2024 for the 225th anniversary of Pushkin's birth. Four stories mapped onto four seasons: The Squire's Daughter for spring and summer, The Shot for autumn, The Blizzard for winter, and The Stationmaster as spring comes round again. It won the Crystal Turandot for set design and the MK Theatre Award for best supporting actor. In Russian with Chinese surtitles, about 200 minutes with one interval; the production includes smoking and gunshots. Sold alongside Amadeus as the theatre's Shanghai double bill.

On sale 14 August 2026, 14:00. Bands at 280 / 380 / 480 / 600 / 680 / 750 / 880 / 900 / 1080 yuan, VIP included. Early bird, from opening until 23:59 on 6 September 2026: buy a band of 680 or above through SHOAC's mini-program, website or box office and the 1080 / 880 / 680 bands are charged at 900 / 750 / 600. Two-seat packages at 1880 (1080×2), 1580 (880×2) and 1260 (680×2) yuan. Performed in Russian with Chinese surtitles; some stalls seats have a poor sightline to the surtitles, worth bearing in mind when choosing a seat.
