Biography
A Russian state theatre founded in 1921 on Moscow's Arbat by Yevgeny Vakhtangov, a pupil of Stanislavski. It gives over a hundred performances a month in Moscow across drama, classical tragedy and operetta. Rimas Tuminas was artistic director from 2007. It has visited Shanghai three times recently — War and Peace in 2024, Eugene Onegin and Uncle Vanya in 2025, all at the Oriental Art Center.
