About us

The living concert guide for Shanghai music lovers.

Last updated: August 13, 2026

Shanghai Concerts (上海乐历) is a continuously updated calendar of classical music in Shanghai — concerts, opera, recitals and chamber music across the city's major venues: the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, the Shanghai Grand Opera House, the Oriental Art Center, the Shanghai Concert Hall and more.

Why this exists

We are classical music fans ourselves, and we built this because we wanted to use it.

Shanghai probably has the densest classical concert calendar in China. Between the resident orchestras' seasons, touring international ensembles and visiting soloists, there is barely a week without something worth clearing an evening for. Orchestras with full diaries are willing to put Shanghai on an Asian tour because there is an audience here — the tickets genuinely sell, and the applause lands in the right places. Shanghai listeners are lucky in that.

What is missing is a way to see it. Every venue has its own WeChat account, its own mini-program and its own ticketing system, and each picks its own moment to release tickets. Some concerts are announced in a single post, and an hour later the good seats are gone. To know what is on next month, which night is worth going to, and when tickets open, you have to follow seven or eight accounts and still expect to miss things.

That gap is what this site is for. Everything scattered across those channels, collected in one place — searchable, browsable by venue and by date, with the programme and the performers, and with the source and last-checked date attached to every fact.

What we do

  • Complete — we continuously collect listings from official venue and orchestra channels, structured as events, performances, venues and ticket offers.
  • Accurate — every listing carries its source and a last-checked date. Dates, prices and on-sale status follow official announcements only; we never guess.
  • Neutral — we are not a ticketing platform, we sell nothing, and no venue pays for placement. Booking links go straight to official channels.

Where the data comes from

Listings come from the official websites and announcements of the venues and companies themselves (Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Grand Opera House, Oriental Art Center, Cadillac Shanghai Concert Hall, and others). Data is collected automatically and reviewed by humans before publishing. Spotted an error? Please tell us.
