Two at SHOAC on 14 November: The Wind from the Himalayas and the Xiamen Aige Chamber Choir

Elegant Chinese Music of Shanghai: The Wind from the Himalayas plays once, at 19:45 on 14 November in the Oriental Art Center's recital hall. Three bands — 180, 240 and 320 yuan — on sale since 13:14 on 25 August, six per order, admission by real name.

Zhang Xin is composer, director and pianist; he teaches composition and conducting at the Zhejiang Conservatory. With him are Liu Zongqin (flute), Wang Jiushi (yangqin), Jiang Xiao (voice) and Zhang Tongfen (percussion and handpan). Wang Jiushi founded the 海上雅乐 series at this hall in 2009. The programme belongs to Zhang Xin's cycle 《大地之风》 — ten pieces in five sections, the forces changing piece by piece: yangqin alone, voice with piano, voice with handpan, all five together. The presenter notes the programme is subject to change.

The same evening, a choir in the concert hall

Xiamen Aige Chamber Choir: Voices of Everything plays at 19:30 on 14 November in the concert hall. Six bands — 100, 180, 280, 380, 480 and 680 yuan — on sale since 13:56 on 25 August. The choir was founded in Xiamen in 2016; this is the Shanghai stop of its tour.

The hall has published the date, the prices and its purchase terms and nothing else: no programme, and no conductor for this performance. The poster names the choir and its producer and nobody else. Both will be added here when they are published.

The two clash. Both halls are inside the Oriental Art Center and the curtains are fifteen minutes apart, so it is one or the other.
