Symphonic
Oriental Classics: Butterfly Lovers and Yellow River

About the performance
Fan Tao conducts the Accent Symphony Orchestra in five Chinese orchestral works, built around the two concertos the concert is named for. Before the interval: Lv Qiming's Ode to the Red Flag, Jiang Wantong's Capriccio on "Hong Yan", and the Butterfly Lovers violin concerto of He Zhanhao and Chen Gang, with Zhou Ming'en as soloist. After it: the Yao Dance of Liu Tieshan and Mao Yuan, then all four movements of the Yellow River piano concerto, with Yuan Jie as soloist. The poster also bills the cellist Huang Jing without saying what she plays. The presenter notes that the final programme and running order are settled on the night.
