About the performance
Blizzard's official thirty-fifth anniversary concert, one night in Shanghai. Jason Hayes conducts; he is Blizzard's composer and music director, and the World of Warcraft, StarCraft and Hearthstone scores are his. Tommy Tallarico, who founded Video Games Live, hosts. VGL and X-LIVE produce. Game music reaches a concert hall differently from film music. It is written to loop for an indefinite length — one theme may have to hold a player's attention on the same map for two hours — so putting it on stage means recutting it into passages with a beginning and an end, and the running order and orchestration are the producer's decisions. What will actually be played has not been announced. SHOAC Concert Hall, about 90 minutes. Six price bands, 280 to 1,380 yuan.
