Shanghai Philharmonic Maestro & Classic Series: Richard Strauss, a Double Portrait

This is a concert in the Shanghai Philharmonic's Maestro & Classic Series this season. Zhang Yi conducts two works by Richard Strauss. First comes Metamorphosen, written in 1945 for 23 solo strings. Then the tone poem Ein Heldenleben, Op. 40, from 1898. The running time is about 95 minutes, including the interval.
