About the work

FRAGMENTS is cellist Alisa Weilerstein's multi-year project that breaks apart Bach's solo cello suites and interleaves their movements with newly commissioned works, performed continuously with theatrical lighting and no printed running order. This installment, "Wonder," sets music by Allison Loggins-Hull, Gili Schwarzman, Joan Tower, Reinaldo Moya and Chen Yi alongside Bach, letting three centuries of solo cello writing reflect one another.
