SSO | 26 concerts in the 2026-27 season still have no on-sale date

Twenty-six concerts in the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra's 2026-27 season have no on-sale time. As of 26 August 2026 none of them has a single bookable sitting configured in the orchestra's ticketing system, and none has published prices.

Two series are affected in full. All seven currently listed dates of The Chinese Beethoven piano cycle are unopened, from KaJeng Wong on 17 December to JJ Jun Li Bui on 12 June 2027. All six MAP Class education concerts are unopened as well, the first of them on 18 October.

Two more series opened only partway. SSO in Chamber 1 to 5 went on sale on 10 July; 6 and 7 did not. Rush Hour 1 to 3 are selling; 4 and 5 are not.

Eight visiting recitals and ensembles are also unopened: Piotr Anderszewski (2 December), Emmanuel Pahud (7 January 2027), Bertrand Chamayou (2 March), Marcin Dylla (4 March), Justin Taylor in the Goldberg Variations (13 March), Jean-Marc Luisada (19 March), Quatuor Danel (30 April) and Dinis Sousa with the ORR and the Monteverdi Choir (21 May). With Coco and the Danish Nuts on 28 November, that is 26.

The season announcement gave one on-sale time for everything: 15 July at 13:00. That wave did open 46 concerts, taking the orchestra's own programmes through to the season closing concert on 25 June 2027, and all eight dates of the Left Bank festival in April with them. Pahud makes the contrast plain. His Magic Flute and operatic fantasias with the orchestra on 8 January 2027 opened on 15 July. His own recital the previous evening did not.

What the ticketing system records for these 26 is that no sale has been configured, which is a different statement from sold out. Only the Anderszewski recital has prices, five bands from 100 to 480 yuan, with the time still blank. No new on-sale date has been announced.
