SSO | Added seats for six season concerts open 28 August at 13:00, and the Hadelich recital moves to a ballot

The Shanghai Symphony Orchestra has added seats to six concerts in its 2026-27 season. They go on sale at 13:00 on 28 August, through the orchestra's website and its WeChat mini-program at the same moment. The regular price bands for all six had already sold out, and the added seats are now the only rows the box office still lists, so this is the last batch anyone can buy.

The six, in order. 11 September, Season Opening Concert I, Long Yu and Leonidas Kavakos marking 120 years since Shostakovich's birth, added seats at 380, 180 and 80 yuan. 13 September, Season Opening Concert II, the Tenth Symphony, the same three bands. 18 September, Zhang Guoyong and Kavakos play Mendelssohn, at 180 and 80. 22 September, Augustin Hadelich's violin recital, at 580, 380 and 180. 7 October, Charles Dutoit and Elisabeth Leonskaja in Mozart and Respighi's Roman trilogy, at 580, 380 and 80. 13 October, Hannu Lintu and Chloe Chua with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, at 580, 380 and 180. All six are in the Main Hall and all six start at 19:30.

The orchestra states plainly that the view from the added seats is obstructed, and every added-seat row in its ticketing system carries the same sentence. Worth knowing before you buy.

The Hadelich recital on 22 September changes how it sells entirely. Instead of a race at the moment of release it becomes a ballot. Registration runs from 13:00 on 28 August to 12:00 on 29 August, one ticket per mobile number, with no seat selection. A confirmation SMS, sent by 18:00 on 29 August, is the only proof of a place. The purchase link follows by 12:00 on 31 August and has to be paid by 20:00 that day or it lapses. Places are limited and close when full. Two regular bands are in the ballot, 780 and 580 yuan, alongside added seats at 580, 380 and 180. The registration entry is posted on the orchestra's WeChat official account.

The Singapore Symphony concert on 13 October carries one further restriction of its own, a cap of two tickets per person for the whole concert.

One other thing. Piotr Anderszewski's recital on 2 December is already on sale, and the real moment was 15:00 on 27 August, a day earlier than we published this morning. It can be bought on the orchestra's website and its mini-program, at 480, 380, 280, 180 and 100 yuan, four per order. That article has been corrected.
