In Memory of Professor Zhang Renqing — A Vocal Recital

About the performance
A memorial concert for Zhang Renqing, a voice teacher at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, at the Shanghai Symphony Hall chamber auditorium on 26 September 2026 at 19:15. One performance. The programme runs to nineteen numbers in two halves. The first is Western opera and lieder: "Dein ist mein ganzes Herz" from Lehár's Das Land des Lächelns, "E lucevan le stelle" from Puccini's Tosca, "Nemico della patria" from Giordano's Andrea Chénier, "Una furtiva lagrima" from Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore, "Je veux vivre" from Gounod's Roméo et Juliette, "Cortigiani, vil razza dannata" from Verdi's Rigoletto, the duet "Au fond du temple saint" from Bizet's Les pêcheurs de perles, "La calunnia" from Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia, and Beethoven's song Andenken. The second half is Chinese vocal repertoire: two songs by Zhu Liangzhen, Song of Two Places and Starlight Returning, along with songs by Li Yan, Jin Xijia, Zuo Yijian and Meng Qingyun, and "Ten Miles of Wind and Snow" from the opera The White-Haired Girl. The opening and closing numbers are sung by the full company. The twelve singers are Yang Xiaoyong, Huang Xuan, Xu Qi, Zhou Zhengzhong, Xu Runtao, Dai Jianwu, Ye Yong, Zhang Yan, Tang Junyan, Dou Qianming, Zheng Caokun and Zhu Qiongxue, with Li Weijie and Yu Jiewei at the piano and Liu Yilin presenting. The presenter has not published Zhang Renqing's dates or years of teaching, and this page does not supply them.

Buying and admission
- Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. If a performance is cancelled or postponed for reasons outside the presenter's control, you get the face value back and nothing else.
- Children 1.2 m and taller need a full-price ticket; under 1.2 m are not admitted, except to concerts programmed for children.
- Doors open 40 minutes before curtain and seats are numbered. Latecomers are seated by the staff at a suitable break, not on arrival.
- Backpacks, large bags and camera bags must be checked. Phones off or silent once inside, and no photography or recording without permission.
- Subscription packages are sold at the box office only: at least five concerts at a time, a bigger discount the more you take, up to about 30% off. Six tickets per concert per price band per person, no refunds, and seats are allocated in the order the orders came in.
