Recital
The Voice of Silence: Zhang Chuhan Piano Recital
About the performance
Pianist Zhang Chuhan gives a recital in the chamber hall of Shanghai Symphony Hall. The first half is nine of Grieg's Lyric Pieces, with Chang Le's 《曙光》 and 《荷翻》 and Gao Ping's 《小华尔兹》 and 《舞狂——向阿斯特尔·皮亚佐拉致敬》, a homage to Astor Piazzolla. After the interval comes Yao Chen's Nocturnes: The Voice of Silence, Gazing upon Five Paintings by Harald Sohlberg, a commissioned work of 2025, in five movements: Night, Fisherman's Cottage, Elegy, Silence and Winter Night in the Mountains. This is the world premiere. The recital ends with nine more of Grieg's Lyric Pieces.
