The Echo of Chopin: David Khrikuli Piano Recital

A programme of Romantic piano music read against itself. Schumann dedicated Kreisleriana to Chopin; Chopin dedicated the Second Ballade back to Schumann — the two sit side by side here. With them, Chopin's Op. 17 Mazurkas and the B minor Sonata, and, opening the evening, Brahms's late Op. 119 pieces: written decades later, and turned just as far inward. Khrikuli is Georgian, twenty-five this year, and drew notice during the 2025 Chopin Competition; this is the programme he has toured since. About 90 minutes.
