About the performance
Yang Yang conducts a programme in the season's Dialogue strand. Ye Xiaogang's Caprice for violin and orchestra, That Which Kindles, was commissioned by the orchestra and receives its world premiere here, with Paloma So as soloist. The second half is Mahler's Fourth Symphony, whose finale is sung by the soprano Li Jingjing.
