Harmonic Resonance — A Dialogue between Sheng and Accordion
About the performance
Two free-reed instruments in conversation: the Chinese sheng and the accordion of the Italian tradition — the same way of making a sound, almost no shared repertoire. Across twelve pieces the sheng travels from The Phoenix Spreads Its Wings to new works with konghou and with chamber ensemble, while the accordion side is held together by Piero Adragna's arrangements, including Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix played with suona. The opening piece was composed by Tencent Music's Tianqin Lab using AI. No performers have been named.
