SHOAC | The licence for Volchok's 27 September recital has been revoked, and tickets are still on sale
The Shanghai culture bureau revoked the licence for the 27 September Volchok piano recital on 18 August. Re-checked at midday on 21 August, SHOAC's ticketing system was still selling it. In the same batch, the November Swan Lake was licensed again a month after being cancelled, and we have added the two sittings we were missing.

One of the licensing decisions the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism issued on 18 August was a revocation.
It cancels the licence for Anastasia Volchok's piano recital in SHOAC's Recital Hall on 27 September at 19:45, permit 沪文旅许[2026]4504号, filed by Shanghai Oriental Art Center Management Co. A performance involving artists from outside the mainland needs that licence before it can be sold or staged, so revoking it removes the basis for the evening.
We looked again at 12:36 on 21 August. SHOAC's ticketing system was still selling the recital normally, at 80 to 300 yuan. Three days on, the two sources have not met.
What we do with that: the listing stays public, the ticket status says on sale because it is on sale, and the top of the concert page states that the licence has been revoked. Whether the concert is cancelled, and how refunds work, is the presenter's to announce and not ours. But a reader is entitled to know both things are true before paying.
In the same batch, Swan Lake was licensed again
Swan Lake at the Shanghai Grand Opera House in November went the other way. The run was first licensed on 29 June (沪文旅许[2026]3461号), revoked on 24 July, and licensed again on 18 August as 沪文旅许[2026]4479号 — with the presenter changed from Shanghai International Culture Association to Shanghai Grand Theatre Management Co, and the hall and the dates unchanged.
The permit sets out five sittings: 19:30 on 12, 13 and 15 November, and 14:00 and 19:30 on 14 November. We held three of them and no curtain times. Both are corrected. Ticketing has not been announced.
Knowing a concert is real before it goes on sale, or that it has stopped being real, comes from this one document. It moves before the hall's calendar does, and it is more candid than the hall's calendar is.
