Wing Chun (dance drama)
About the performance

Three performances of the dance drama 《咏春》 (Wing Chun) are given by Shenzhen Opera and Dance Theatre in the Harmony Hall of the Shanghai Grand Opera House. Han Zhen and Zhou Liya are chief directors. The Publicity Department of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and the Shenzhen culture and tourism bureau produce it.

The house says the piece uses two intangible cultural heritage elements, Wing Chun boxing and gambiered Canton silk. A film crew's lighting technician's memories frame it, and it is told in five chapters. Ip Man arrives in Hong Kong in the 1950s and opens a school. Praying mantis, bagua and tai chi are also on stage. The running time is 130 minutes, with a 15-minute interval; the house notes programme and length may change.
