The Shape of Time: Les Croissants Choir in Contemporary Choral Works
About the performance
Les Croissants, a young mixed-voice choir founded in Shanghai in January 2024 under conductor Zhao Yifan, sings contemporary choral music only. This is the choir’s own evening in the main hall of Shanghai Symphony Hall on 31 October at 19:30, doors 18:50, with Fu Hu at the piano. Fourteen pieces, all recent choral works or arrangements. In English: Ola Gjeilo’s Northern Lights, Ivo Antognini’s Come To Me, John Chorbajian’s Bitter for Sweet, Rob Dietz’s Softest Rains, and arrangements of Hela Rotan (Ken Steven), Till There Was You from The Music Man, and the Beatles’ In My Life. In Chinese: pieces by Tan Tianle, Shih Ching-ju, Li Zi’ao and Cui Wei, and arrangements of three familiar songs, among them 刻在我心底的名字 and 踏雪寻梅. The programme is subject to change on the night. The choir is renting the hall; this is not a Shanghai Symphony Orchestra season concert. Tickets are sold through the orchestra’s box-office platform.

Buying and admission
- Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. If a performance is cancelled or postponed for reasons outside the presenter's control, you get the face value back and nothing else.
- Children 1.2 m and taller need a full-price ticket; under 1.2 m are not admitted, except to concerts programmed for children.
- Doors open 40 minutes before curtain and seats are numbered. Latecomers are seated by the staff at a suitable break, not on arrival.
- Backpacks, large bags and camera bags must be checked. Phones off or silent once inside, and no photography or recording without permission.
- Subscription packages are sold at the box office only: at least five concerts at a time, a bigger discount the more you take, up to about 30% off. Six tickets per concert per price band per person, no refunds, and seats are allocated in the order the orders came in.
- Fifty tickets or more for one concert counts as a group booking, at a separately negotiated rate: 021-24266124.
